On october 9, 2018, the first stage of the International Student Olympiad in Russian literature and language, devoted to the 200th anniversary of F.I. Buslaeva, which is carried out in two stages. in Astana on the basis of the philological faculty of the ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov, the second stage will be held on October 16–19, 2018 in Moscow on the basis of the Moscow State Pedagogical University.

Every year on October 1, the scientific community of Kazakhstan, CIS and the world celebrates the birthday of L.N.Gumilyov - an outstanding scientist of the XX century, the author of fundamental works on the history of the Turkic and Slavic, Asian and European peoples, a well-known expert in the field of historical ethnology and historical geography.
