Workshop on Professional Placement at the University of Sopron in Hungary

In the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Improving the Integration of Higher Education and Corporate Sectors in Accordance with the New Social Environment – ENINEDU 574060-EPP-1-2016-KZ-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP”, head of the Caree and Business Partnership Department Laura Aldasheva and head of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department Zhanna Beisembayeva took an active part in the workshop on professional placement with doctoral and bachelor students and professors of economic specialties of the University of Sopron. The purpose of discussions was to exchange experience in the organization and conduct of professional placement at the level of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies at the partner university. During the discussions, ENU representatives spoke about how the pre-diploma and professional placement are conducted at the graduation course for Kazakhstani students. According to the results of the discussions, parallels were found in the conduct of professional practice in the two partner universities: in the last semester of study, all Sopron students undergo a pre-diploma internship with a break from studies at the industry and simultaneously conduct research and write their graduate theses. Students find a place of practice both independently and with the help of their university. Doctoral students who study at the Hungarian University for 4 years, also undergo professional practice during the 1st and 2nd courses. The place of professional practice is directly related to the purpose of the doctoral dissertation. Discussions with students at the University of Sopron turned to the presentation of two Russian students studying at the University of Sopron, Alexander Suchkov and Elena Verlova, on the implementation of their START-UP project in Hungary. The speakers talked about the difficulties and nuances they had to go through in order to run their own small business “Candy Crafts” in Sopron and Budapest.
