Seminar at the Department of Foreign Philology
October 9 this year Master students of the Department of Foreign Philology took part in the seminar “New impulses of education”, devoted to the discussion of the Message of President N.Nazarbayev “Growth of welfare of Kazakhstan people: increase of incomes and quality of life”.
The seminar was opened by the head of the department Professor A.E. Bizhkenova. In her opening speech, she, in particular, focused on the critical importance of the initiatives put forward by the President in this Address, the role of youth in society, the status of a teacher and the quality of education. The role of science for the development of society is repeatedly emphasized by the President in his speeches, and we understand the responsibility that is borne by higher education. Master, as the first stage of serious research activity, is called upon to play a decisive role in the choice of young researchers of their scientific path and to contribute to the formation of a scientific world outlook. In this regard, the department of foreign philology makes every effort to create an enabling environment for students.
The seminar moderator - associate professor A.Sh.Akzhigitova invited the 1st year master student of the department Sagingaliyeva Maral, who made a presentation “The scope of preschool and secondary education in the light of the President’s initiatives”. In particular, she spoke about the results of her blitz survey among secondary school teachers in Astana on issues of the quality of secondary education, the adoption of the Law on the status of a teacher, the increase in salary for a teacher and the reduction of his secondary, non-professional work load. All answers were unanimously positive and approving all the proposals that the President not only voiced, but also interactively, immediately instructed them to be executed.
The next master student Ibraev Ilyas spoke on the topic "Higher education and its quality." According to Ilyas, quality issues in higher education in Kazakhstan remain always relevant. It is necessary to get rid of stereotypes of the past, when a student went “according to a plan”: to enter a university, to study, to work and there are no problems. Today is a market time and it is necessary for everyone to strive for their own quality, which will help to be competitive in the future and find the field of activity for which he/she was preparing during the studies at the university. Many graduates do not work in their sphere of profession. Then why does the state spend money on students' training? The level of professional employment should indicate the quality of the university.
Undergraduates Kurakbayeva Guldana and Nauryzbaykyzy Markhabat, speaking about the processes of transformation in the country and social mobility, stressed the need and importance of the involvement of every citizen of the country in the progress of society as a whole and the formation of a stable civic position. We, as future specialists in the field of education and public service, today have the right to obtain the highest quality knowledge and use all the provided development opportunities for young people.
In the course of the further discussion, all participants unanimously expressed their opinion that they welcome the current Message of the President to the people of Kazakhstan and fully support the initiatives that have been mentioned. And the undergraduates assured that they will make every effort for quality education in the walls of their beloved high school.
