Scientific activity

 

The scientific activity of the Department includes the organization and conduct of scientific research in accordance with the profile of the Department within the framework of international, Kazakh and University research programs and projects.

          The main research topic of the department is Russian language and intercultural communication in the socio-cultural space of Kazakhstan. Members of the department are actively engaged in scientific activities: they manage doctoral, master's, and student scientific works, publish monographs and teaching aids, and take part in conferences held at the university, near and far abroad.

          The department's research interests include research on current problems of Russian studies, Cognitive Linguistics, Discourse Theory, Text Theory, the modern Russian Language in the context of Culture and Politics, problems of bilingualism, multilingualism, theory and practice of Intercultural Communication.

 

 

 

Scientific publications in Web of Science and Scopus international scientific journals. 

The teachers of the Department carry out active research work, the results are published in publications included in the indexing system, such as Web of Science, Scopus, RSCI, as well as recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. So, today the scientists of the Department: Doctors of Philological Sciences, Professors Zharkynbekova Sh.K., Zhuravleva E.A., Agmanova A.E., Nurtazina M.B., Zhunussova Zh.N., Doctor of Philological Sciences, Docent Dzhambaeva Zh.A., Candidates of Pedagogical Sciences, Docents Asmagambetova B.M., Galieva B.Kh., Candidates of Philological Sciences, Docents. Ayupova G.K., Tashimkhanova D.S., Sharipova M.K. have scientific publications in the international scientific journals Web of Science, Scopus. 

 Organization of scientific, scientific and practical conferences, seminars, round tables, etc. 

An important part of the work of the department is the holding of international scientific conferences and seminars, as well as the participation of the teaching staff of the department in the work of scientific seminars in Kazakhstan and abroad.

 

 

Thus, the Department annually organizes an International Scientific Student Sonference: “Russian Language in the XXI century: Research of the Young”.  The Conference is attended by students from educational institutions not only from Kazakhstan, but also from near and far abroad (Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Poland, China, Slovakia. The Conference was co-organized in different years by foreign universities: Sibai Institute (branch) of the Bashkir State University (Russia ), Institute of Russian Studies of the University of Presov (Slovakia), Tula State Pedagogical University named after LN Tolstoy, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, Surgut State Pedagogical University (Russia). Conference proceedings are indexed in the scientometric base of the RSCI.

 


 

An important scientific and practical event was the International Scientific and Practical Conference: "Text in the system of teaching Russian language and literature", which is attended by Kazakhstani and foreign scientists. So, in 2020, on the initiative of the Department of theoretical and applied linguistics conference was held jointly with the Department of foreign languages and business communication uggu (Russia), the Department of philological education and journalism Surgpu (Russia), the Department of Russian language and literature of TSPU them. L. N. Tolstoy (Russia). Based on the results of the online conference, a collection of materials indexed in the RSCI was published.

 

An integral part of the Department's work is the constant participation in international seminars and webinars in Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries.

The most significant of them are:

• Expertise of electronic educational publications and its quality, organized by the "Textbook" Republican Center;

• Education throughout life, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan under the auspices of the International Educational Holding Study Innovations and KazPRYaL (20-21.11.20);

• “Dialogues with Russia: Development of Open Education in Russian”, organized by Vyatka State University under a grant from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (November - December 2020);

• The use of new technologies in teaching RFL for the formation of linguocultural competence, organized jointly with the Faculty of Philology of the Omsk State University named after F.M. Dostoevsky (14.12.20);

• International Educational Salon within the framework of the project "Russia in Scientific and Cultural Dialogue" conducted by the Udmurt State University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (7-9.12.20);

• Methods of student-centered teaching at the university, organized by the L.N. Gumilyov ENU with the invitation of foreign lecturers from the National Research Technological University "MISiS" (20.11-15.12.20).

Research work of students and undergraduates

The research work of students and undergraduates of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics is a set of educational, scientific, methodological and organizational activities that ensure the formation of research and scientific and methodological competencies of students in the field of the chosen direction of training.

Research work and research work is carried out within the framework of the problem areas of the department's research work. Students begin to carry out scientific work in the second year, receiving scientific groundwork on the topic of further research. Every year, students present the results of their work at scientific and practical conferences at various levels and publish the materials of their speeches.

The Department conducts systematic activities to prepare graduate qualification works within the framework of topical problems of linguistics. The topic of graduation works correlates with the scientific directions of the department.
