On November 23, 2018, a regular meeting of the student club of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages STUDENTS ’CLUB OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES was held.
This month, the club meeting was devoted to the topic ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION TIPS and was held at the WELCOME Center of L. N. Gumilyov ENU. The main speakers were the head of the department Beisembayeva Zh. A., the head of the club Anasheva D.K. and the department's foreign teacher Israel Mogis Beyne (Ethiopia).
The participants of the club meeting - students of the 2nd course of the specialty “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" learned useful instructions from experienced teachers in order to improve their pronunciation skills in English. First of all, Beisembayeva Zh. A. drew the students' attention to the basic mistakes they make in the pronunciation of complex English words and offered to take part in a video lesson in English phonetics on the pronunciation of English sounds.
Next Anasheva D.K. invited students to perform several tong twisters, phonetic exercises that aroused special interest among students.
The foreign teacher of the department Israel Mogis Beyne held themed games with students at the end of the club’s meeting, and students had the opportunity to show their English-speaking skills to the native English speaker.
