On April 8, 2020, an unscheduled meeting of the Department of Foreign Philology was held to discuss Rector’s Order No. 493-p dated 04/07/2020 “On Strengthening Measures to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus Infection”.
Along with the important measures taken at the university related to the transition to distance learning, there is a need to improve the quality of classes. Actively use of the Microsoft Teams platform, connect the Zoom, Google Classroom platforms for lectures and seminars in the mode of active communication and load the Platonus AIS to verify written work and feedback.
Important issues are the organization of forms of current, intermediate and final control of students' knowledge. It was decided to conduct all forthcoming exams of the spring session orally. Check basic language subjects in the form of an oral interview in the framework of the lexical topics, as well as homework in the form of monologues on the topic. Written essays can be included in midterm assignments.
Current issues related to the participation of student research projects in various republican competitions of scientific student work were also discussed. A total of 5 works were sent to the contest.
In conclusion, the head of the department, A.E.Bizhkenova, on behalf of the whole team congratulated the professor of the department, Gulnara Kusayenovna Sarsikeeva, on the 70th anniversary and wished her health and creative longevity. Colleagues actively supported the congratulation.
