On June 6, 2023 British Council held a meeting in Astana for discussing a systematic approach to improving the quality of teaching English in educational institutions.
The moderator was Simon Borg, an expert in the field of education specializing in the development, implementation and evaluation of professional development programs for teachers. Two professors of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU from the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology B.Kussanova , R.Zhussupova also took part in this event as facilitators of the project, which was conducted by the British Council during the academic year.
Representatives of education departments, analytical centers, teacher training organizations, schools and pedagogical universities actively discussed factors affecting English language teaching and steps to improve the situation in teacher training in universities and colleges, teacher training and assessment of English language skills among students and teachers.
