On November 10, 2017 the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Chair under the leadership of the acting chair head Zh. Beisembayeva in cooperation with the English Language Teachers Association of the Universities of Astana (ELTA), chaired by Professor R. Zhussupova and Macmillan's representative office in Kazakhstan organized and conducted a methodological seminar “TEACHING SPEAKING, WRITING, LISTENING and READING THROUGH CRITICAL THINKING”.
The speaker was a leading expert in teaching foreign languages, Grzegorz Śpiewak, who presented new approaches to learning all types of speech activity in English using innovative methods of critical thinking. This seminar was of great practical importance to both faculty and students of the specialty “5В011900 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” who study such elective courses as “Critical Thinking” and “Critical Writing”. All the participants of Grzegorz Śpiewak’s seminar – teachers of the Faculty of Philology (Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Chair, Foreign Languages Chair and General Linguistics and Translation Theory Chair) have a nice chance to get acquainted with the latest editions of Macmillan Press in the field of teaching special and professional English.
