Meeting with Hassan Amankyl, a representative of of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan

On October 14, a planned meeting of Hassan Amankul with first-year students was organized. It took place in the room No. 305 of the Faculty of Philology of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University. The meeting was devoted to the topic "Prerequisites for the emergence of religious extremism". Hassan Amankul is a representative of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan. The meeting was aimed at raising students' awareness on religious issues, including the threat of religious extremism, as well as security issues. The meeting was attended by the tutor of the group Aknur Mukhitovna and the senior tutor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation Botagoz Maratovna.

Hasan Amankul at the beginning of his speech focused his attention on the features of the future profession of students of the specialty "Translation studies", as professionals who know several foreign languages perfectly. This feature of the profession can potentially attract attention of unscrupulous religious agitators to promote their ideology.

The speaker briefly shared with the audience his valuable experience gained while visiting five US states, as well as information on the behavior of students in the event of a suspicious situation.

According to Hassan Amankul, the danger of representatives of religious extremism lies mainly in propaganda of hatred towards ordinary people who do not practice religion, propaganda of negative attitude towards peaceful people, the country, the government of the country and family members.

The students listened Hassan Amankul attentively and asked various questions, to which the speaker gave full answers.

Also, the speaker shared his experience of interacting with people who went to Syria with their families, being under the influence of radical extremism, but who found the opportunity to return to their homeland. Hassan Amankul gave practical recommendations to the students: to avoid contacts with religious agitators as much as possible, to help friends if they are in such a difficult life situation, to seek help from parents or official representatives of competent state bodies in a in case they face with this kind of situations.

In general, it should be noted that the meeting was interactive, productive and interesting. Hasan Amankul's considerable experience as an official representative of the state organization aroused the high interest of students. As a result of the meeting, the students received valuable practical information.
