Meeting with writer Suzanne Gregor

September 12, 2018 at the Department of Foreign Philology students and teachers met with the Austrian writer Suzanne Gregor. The meeting was organized on the initiative of the head of the department, Professor A. Bizhkenova. with the assistance of the Austrian Embassy. 

Suzanne Gregor is recognized as an international literary critic of one of the best contemporary writers in Europe, she is the recipient of several literary awards. Born in Slovakia, she was educated in Austrian Salzburg, worked in New Orleans, then moved to Vienna and began publishing her first short stories in 2009, which immediately attracted readers with her realism and impartial manner of presentation. 

Suzanne Gregor takes part in the international literary forum that is taking place these days in Astana. This is the first visit of a writer to Kazakhstan. She is very impressed by the city, as well as a good atmosphere at all events. 

The meeting was held in a creative, relaxed and very warm atmosphere, communication with the bearer of the beautiful German language further inspired students to learn. During the meeting, many questions were asked about the creativity and personality of the writer. Suzanne Gregor, in turn, was interested in the question of whether students show interest in literature and what works they read. As a result, the writer thanked all the participants for showing interest in her work and promised to visit our university him once more in the next visit to Kazakhstan.
