On November 26, 2019, the university administration, headed by the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Innovations, A. Zholdasbekova and Dean of the Faculty of Philology A. Beisenbay welcomed in the walls of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University a delegation of the First Russian President B.N. Yeltsin Ural Federal University (https://urfu.ru/ru/). The Russian delegation included the UFU First Vice-Rector D. Bugrov, Head of the International Relations Department M. Guzikova, Deputy of the UFU First Vice-Rector D. Laevsky
The Faculty of Philology was represented by Dean A. Beisenbay, Head of the Russian Philology Department K. Nurgali, Head of the Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Department Ye. Zhuravleva, Head of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department Zh. Beisembayeva.
The main goal of the meeting of the representatives of the two partner universities was cooperation in the field of QS subject Ranking in Linguistics. On February 27, 2019, according to the results of “QS World University Ranking by Subject” conducted by the international ranking agency QS Symonds (Great Britain), the ENU “LINGUISTICS” subject for the first time entered the TOP 251-300.
The meeting participants shared their experiences on how to improve performance in the international ranking of universities, how to maintain contact with foreign partners, scientists, experts, talked about ongoing research projects and new agreements with Russian universities.
At the meeting, new tasks of cooperation were outlined: joint publication of articles in cited databases, exchange of foreign partners, joint development of scientific projects and the involvement of scientists from the two universities in scientific events at ENU and UFU.
