Possibilities of using the brainstorming method at FL theory and practice department

On February 25, 2022 at FL theory and practice department, under the leadership of the head of "Students' club of foreign languages" Anasheva D.K., the intellectual game “What, Where, When” was conducted with the participation of the 3rd year students. A foreign teacher August Garsney, as well as, a head of the department Beissenbaeva L.Zh., and  members of the club, students of the English group FL-14, Zeynel Ulzhan and Sattarova Tomiris, participated as a jury. An intellectual game is a logical and strategic game in which the success of the whole team directly depends on the skills, abilities to make the accurate moves in accordance with the rules and requirements. The main purpose of the given game was the opportunity to show the best intellectual qualities of students, to demonstrate the ability to speculate. Using the brainstorming method, 3 teams (FL-31, 33 and 35) of six “experts” spent one minute looking for the correct answer to a specially selected question. Questions in English were devoted to the development of cognitive interest in various sections of science and culture of English-speaking countries, at the same time helping to make the game bright, tense, filled with emotions and the desire to win. Group FL-35 became the winners of the intellectual game. The 3rd year students depicted their erudition, critical thinking, showed the ability to use their knowledge and enrich with the knowledge of others. The intellectual game was held in a friendly atmosphere and aroused great interest among students. Undoubtedly, it is obvious that logic, intuition, sense of humor and the ability to work in a team are much more crucial.
