Volunteering: Kindness Will Save the World

On January 29, 2020, an event dedicated to volunteer activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages. The organizers of this event were the teachers of the department Baigunisova Gulbarshin Idrisovna and Verba Yevgeniya Aleksandrovna. The meeting was held in the format of a "round table", which was attended by students, master students and teachers of the Faculty of Philology, as well as invited guests, including representatives of volunteer organizations of Nur-Sultan and a foreign teacher-volunteer of the faculty.

 

 

Each of the participants made a presentation of their volunteer activities. Lecturer of the department Kydyrbaeva Dana Asylkhanovna willingly shared her 10-year experience of volunteering and spoke about various volunteering programs abroad. Then, a graduate student of the Faculty of Philology, Yermekbayeva Aigul, spoke about her volunteer activities as a teacher at the American Corner of L.N. Gumilyov ENU. After that, the floor was given to the head of the charity foundation “Gorod Dobryh Serdets”, Kamil Shamilyevich Zhamalov, and then to the representatives of the charity fund "Club Dobryakov", Sultanbekova Asel Meyrambayevna and Aliyeva Sholpan Tashbolotovna, who told in detail about the activities of their volunteer organizations. At the end of the event, a speech was made by a foreign teacher Kebir Mohammed Jemal, who is a volunteer of the Faculty of Philology and conducts binary classes with teachers of ENU, as well as the Speaking Club for students.

The speakers were addressed a number of questions from undergraduate and postgraduate students attending the event. Each participant had the opportunity to speak on the topic of the meeting, learn new information and receive a positive charge and motivation to participate in volunteer activities. After all, if everyone brings a piece of good to the world, then truly kindness will save the world.
