At philological faculty of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia the solemn event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov, opening of auditorium

On the 5th of December, 2018 at philological faculty of  Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (with the support of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Moscow) the solemn event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov, outstanding Soviet and Kyrgyz humanist writer and to the opening of auditorium, named after him, was held.

The event was attended by faculty, students and master students of  Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, as well as representatives of Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation ‒ B.I. Otunbaev, B. Abdyzhaparova (the adviser to the ambassador), prominent figures of science and art: A.A. Zolotov, national artist of Azerbaijan A. Geibatov.

Welcoming words were made by the Dean of philological faculty of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, professor, Doctor of Philology Barabash V.V., professor Chulkina N.L., Candidate of Philology Kasymalieva K.E., the author of a dissertation on creativity of Ch. Aitmatov.

The video message was received at the address of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia from the CEO of National academic library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Munalbaeva U.D. and the First Deputy CEO Kozhabekova A.M.

The program of the event included showing a fragment of the play «The Scaffold» based on the novel by Chingiz Aitmatov, by actors of the Podolsk drama theatre, execution of works based on the Kyrgyz folk music, a performance of students of the theatre institute named after B. Shchukin.

The event was attended by professor of ENU named after L. Gumilev, Doctor of Philology Urazaeva K.B. (Kazakhstan), who was giving lectures within the academic mobility. 

In welcoming speech Urazaeva has noted link between the destiny and creativity of Ch. T. Aitmatov and the Kazakh culture, a common mythological motifs with the prose of M. Auezov. The works of Aitmatov, which are studied in schools of Kazakhstan, were named. Attention was paid to the study of Aitmatov's work by Kazakh scientists. The fact of naming the new street in Astana by the name of the Kyrgyz writer was mentioned.
