TED Talks Hoops for graduate students

On December 21, 2018, 4th yeat students of the specialty 5B011900 - Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages took part in the scientific seminar “Developing Public Skills: TedTalks Hoops” organized by the Department Professor Zhusupova R. F. and the head of the student club of the department Anasheva D. K.. This TEDTalks event was entirely devoted to discussing the secrets of successful public speaking. Fear of public speaking in front of a large audience, psychological barrier or stage fright are ones of the most pressing problems and “fears” faced by future teachers, speakers, and public figures in modern times. That is why the educational program "5B011900 - Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" of the department includes such practical and valuable courses as "Developing English speaking skills", "Public speaking", "Discussions and debates", "Development presentation skills”, etc. for future teachers.

During the event, students of the 4th course shared their own experiences and secrets of presenting information in a spectacular way, since all of them are already trainee teachers in secondary schools. Public performance in the TEDTalks format is characterized by temporary brevity, availability of information on a particular issue, the ability to attract the attention of the audience and to be a charismatic person. It should be mentioned that the discussion of such a pressing topic was also attended by the head of the department Beisembayeva Zh. A. and teachers of the department (Zhasarova D. G., Nurzhanova Zh. D., Alіpbay B., Yerіk G.). Following the meeting, the participants once again discussed the importance of holding such events and took joint photos.
