Stylistic culture of speech is the basis of accurate approach to teaching students at FL theory and practice department

On November 19, 2021 an offline contest "Teaching Stylistics" was conducted  between the 4th year students at the FL theory and practice department under the guidance of the head of the "Students' club of foreign languages" D.K. Anasheva. Foreign lecturers of the FL theory and practice department: August Garsney, Israel Moges and the 1st year student Abzhamiyev Diaz, a President of the club, were invited as the members of the jury.

A crucial objective was put by the organizer: to depict the relationship and interdependence of teaching Linguistics as "Stylistics" with the methods of teaching English, and to illustrate the relevance and expediency of the use of expressive and stylistic means in practical teaching. The 4th year students demonstrated excellent possibilities of using stylistic devices and expressive means of the English language in different spheres of speech communication and possibilities of their practical application in teaching English. The students demonstrated the peculiarities of linguistic means functioning creatively, skillfully and visually and proved that the carriers of stylistic meanings are the same units of Phonetics, Lexis, Phraseology, Morphology, Syntax.

The students' presentations met all of the evaluation criteria, namely their creativity, practical application of theoretical discourse, purpose achievement, and the involvement of all participants in the contest.

Announcing the results of the contest, the jury faced with difficulties in choosing   winners, but in the end, it turned out to be the group FL-44. In addition, the members of the jury commented the performances of each group in details and awarded personal gifts.

The 4th year students were very enthusiastic about the contest, highlighting its effectiveness and practical relevance.
