Master students of the specialty 6M011900- Foreign Language: two foreign languages had a scientific internship at the Opole University in Opole, Poland beween 30th of October and 9th of November. They were Abesheva Gulnar, Abisheva Kulshat, Ilyasova Araylim, Maratov Dastan ,Zhanturlina Guldana,Zhangildinova Aidana,Esmagulova Aidana and Azat Botagoz. The research internship lasted 10 days. During the internship, they worked according to the plan.
On the first day of the internship master students met with a Professor Elizabieta Szmanska-Czaplak. Elizabieta Szmanska-Czaplak told about the history of the university, its main goals and directions. She emphasized the current problems in the study of training. Master students, in turn, told about their university, about the themes of our theses, about the subject of research, about goals, and shared plans for the future.
On the second day of the internship they got acquainted with the library of the institute and collected material on the topics of their theses. The library's book stock is very large, all conditions for users are created. The main feature of the library is that, in the absence of a necessary book, library workers can, within a short time, order them from other cities and countries. In addition, the library is fully equipped with new technical equipment.
The next day they got acquainted with Opole university Master students and the teachers.
During the internship master students attended round tables, seminars and master classes of leading professors. They attended the lecture of professor E.Piechurska-Kuciel who provided information on how to write articles of impact factors. Moreover, they practiced writing abstracts and introductory sentences utilizing academic vocabulary, discussed the main mistakes of authors publishing academic articles on various journals, considered five rules of writing dissertation and articles.
On the sixth day of the internship the master-class on academic writing and planning research worr was attended. They were introduced the main steps of doing research work and principals of doing an experiment including steps of interviewing and conducting quantitive and qualitive research.
Morover, they could work in lingua-classroom. They learned how to make materials based on ICT. They worked on wiki platform, created blogs and made online lesson using Kahhoot, Edmoda and PBworks.
On the eighth day of the internship there was a lecture of the dean of the philological faculty of the University of Opole, Ph.D., Elizabete Shmansky-Chzaplak. The professor told about the direction of the research and emphasized the importance and relevance of the research. They also attended the lecture of Professor E.Piechurska-Kuciel provided information on how to write articles of impact factors. A round table “Problems and perspectives of teaching foreign languages”.was organised. They discussed problems of preparing well-qualified teachers, some perspectives of ICT technologies in teaching English, role of content subjects in teaching English language (CLIL), methods of teaching speaking and writing.
On the final day of the internship master students received certificates on the internship. They expressed their gratitude to the Institute employees for the lectures, for the materials provided. The internship was very rewarding. This internship was very important in master students' research work as they learned how to plan, to write academic articles, compared Kazakh and European ways of writing dissertation and learned a lot about new methodologies of teaching foreign languages.
