At the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, under the leadership of the head of the Department, L. Zh. Beisembayeva, a program of continuous professional development (OTC) was launched, designed for students of pedagogical specialties in English who are studying in the last year of universities. The training is conducted in cooperation with the National Center for Advanced Training "Orleu" within the framework of the Future English project "English of the Future" on the online platform of the British Council Online Teacher Community "Online Community of Teachers".
The purpose of the program is to increase the professional competencies of students of final courses of pedagogical specialties in English by improving their language and pedagogical skills and equipping them with modern approaches in teaching methods that they can apply during school practice in January-March 2023 and in the future during their teaching activities in schools.
The implementation of the training program for students is carried out from December 2022 to March 2023, as a result, students who have successfully completed the training program will receive certificates from the British Council.
The facilitators of these courses are two professors of the department B.Kh. Kussanova and R. Ph. Zhussupova, who selected masters and students of the specialty "Foreign language: Two Foreign Languages" according to criteria and organized two groups.
Thus, a professional online community of teachers-facilitators has been created, which will contribute to the more effective development of students' language competencies and teaching skills, as well as increase students' knowledge of the communicative approach in teaching English and provide them with the necessary resources, ideas and strategies for their professional development.
