On November 17, 2017 in the scientific library of the university, teachers of the department of practical Kazakh language of the philological faculty K. Akhmetova, L. Baibolat, A. Ashenova, A. Naimanbai held a round table «State symbols and national ideas» dedicated to the Day of the First President of the RK. Public and cultural figures were invited. The purpose of the event is acquaintance with the history of the birth of the symbols of independence, the comprehension of the works of the poet, researcher, honored figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Erbol Shaimerdenuly, about the state symbols.
The author of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhandarbek Malibekuly, the observer of the newspaper «Egemen Kazakhstan» Suleimen Mamet and the laureate of the international award "Alash" Kuanysh Zhienbai, national figure Kulyash Shaimerdenov’s wife, as well as librarians, teachers and freshmen students of the russian gropus of the university took part in this meeting.
The round table was opened by the State Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The presenter of the event A. Naimanbai gave the floor to Professor Zhandarbek Malibekuly. The author of the coat of arms described the process of the historical event of 1992 as follows: «The adoption of State symbols required great responsibility. Head of state and well-known public figures, specialists, scientists like S. Zimanov, A. Kekilbaev, S. Sartayev, S. Abdeldin and others took part in the discussion and choice of samples. Attention was paid to signs, images and content that could determine the history of the country. In the original versions, some details were excluded, while in others they were included. When there was a proposal to cross out the image of a star, President N.A. Nazarbayev noted, «Kazakh people have the blessing which sounds like «juldyzyn zhansyn!» that means «to accompany luck, happiness», let it decorate our coat of arms», after which everyone unanimously voted for the image of the star. Every detail in the coat of arms starts with history».
The event was continued with a video about the adoption of symbols. Following the video a journalist, a columnist for the newspaper «Egemen Kazakhstan» Suleimen Mamet gave a speech on the memories of his colleague E. Shaimerdenov and the mentioned topic. «A few years ago one of the meetings at Nazarbayev University were attended by four people who saw Mukhtar Auezov during his lifetime. It was his son Murat Auezov, Myrzatai Zholdasbekov with his wife Mariyam apai and Mekemtas Myrzakhmetov. The present young people are now face to face with the author of the coat of arms of the Kazakh people. Isn’t it happiness? Always remember our today's dialogue! Nobody better than you will tell the story of the symbols to the next generation» he confirmed.
During the round table much was said about the importance of honoring the family, the nation and the symbols of independence. «While traveling abroad, our flag, coat of arms and hymn in different embassies fill us with joy and pride, and when we heard the name of our late friend and classmate, the author of significant works on symbols, Erbol Shaimerdenov, we were very touched, as if again saw his vivid image. After all, the name of the well-wisher of his people leaves an indelible mark» the writer Kuanysh Zhienbai said excitedly.
During the meeting, students asked questions to the guests. Zh. Malibekuly, having acquainted students with the contents of his book «The Coat of Arms of Kazakhstan», published this year, happily stated that the new version of the state symbol was installed in the audience of the First President in our university. Also, the architect-professor told about the future objects in the national «oy-tech» style, which has a consonance with the modern high-tech. The values of the state language and the project of the Head of State «Spiritual Revival» were also discussed at the round table. At the end of the event, a memory photo was taken.
