The seminar was held in the form of a video lecture in English and Russian on the ZOOM platform.

Nur-Sultan, April 28, 2020 - At L.N. Gumilyov ENU co-hosted an online seminar on the ZOOM platform, which was devoted to the problems of translating advertising slogans.

Today, the sphere of human communications is difficult to imagine without such a social phenomenon as advertising. Against the background of the process of globalization of linguistic and cultural contacts, the question of the possibility of effective use of intercultural advertising is currently gaining particular importance. Of particular importance is the study of the language of advertising.

The seminar analyzed the phenomenon of intercultural advertising, directly related to the problem of translation. When translating an advertisement, a special creative approach is necessary, the translator must determine whether the original advertising concept and its design are suitable for the target culture, taking into account cultural, traditional issues.
