Developing international connections: webinar with Chinese scientists

One of the effective and efficient trends contributing to the support of scientific international relations, are the activities carried out in the online format. On October 29, the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics (Head of the Department Zhuravleva EA) together with the scientists of the Russian Language Department of the Institute of Foreign Languages of Dalian Polytechnic University conducted a webinar "Language Consciousness in the aspect of intercultural communication". This event, held with Chinese colleagues, has become traditional for the department. 

With a welcoming speech to the participants of the event were the Dean of Philology  Faculty of  ENU Sh.K. Zharkynbekova and Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language of the Institute of Foreign Languages DPU Jiang Qun Dean,  Deputy  Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language Li Yanchun, Head. Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics E.A. Zhuravleva, foreign expert on the Russian language DPU N.S. Kasyuk.

      On the webinar were heard and discussed the reports of scientists: Li Yanchun «On the issue of training and methodological support of the educational process at the Faculty of the Russian Language Institute Foreign Language DPU" EA Zhuravleva "Priorities in teaching Russian in a multilingual educational environment", N.S. Kasyuk "On the practical orientation of the course" Intercultural Communication "(in the training program for masters of specialties " Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (Russian language) "and" MTI (Translation. Russian philology) "based on DPI)", M.B. Nurtazina "The use of multimedia tools in teaching Russian: problems and contradictions", as reports of problems of teaching and training Russian language and methodological support of the learning process were presented by D.S. Tashimkhanova, Cao Haiyan, F.K. Isenova, Li Yanchun, Liu Bo and others. All members of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics got involved in the discussion, which allowed to discuss many important issues.

    Both sides presented their scientific and educational materials (monographs, textbooks, textbooks and dictionaries) prepared for the 2017-2018 academic year. Plans and prospects for further cooperation were discussed, specific goals and objectives for joint work for the next 2018-2019 academic year were identified.

     The webinar was very smooth and fruitful. The Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics received applications from Russian and Belarusian universities to connect to the next webinar. As part of this scientific event, a collection of scientific articles is being prepared for publication, in which scientists from Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and Uzbekistan have already submitted their reports.
