The work of the branches of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics

At the end of December 2018 and the beginning of January 2019, the Department held several activities at the school-lyceum № 28. It is important to note that the contract for opening this branch of the Department was signed in summer 2018, and the main work began in the current academic year.
At the December meetings with the school management, issues of the effectiveness of the implementation of the branch’s work plan for the 2018-2019 academic year, which is adopted annually at the September meeting of the department, were discussed.
In addition, a serious and constructive discussion took place with the school leadership and the methodological council of the educational program in the specialty “5В011800 - Russian Language and Literature”. In preparing the program, the Department took into account many suggestions of teachers, school methodologists. It is important to note that the Russian language teachers of this school are part of the program’s developers.
There was a training course “E-mail Correspondence” for pupils of 11th grades, dedicated to the culture of electronic communication. Master, senior teacher Yavorskaya E.E. prepared the training.
Students learned about the rules of communication by e-mail. The relevance of the training is due to the fact that at present, e-mail is the most common means of communication in the business environment of a modern specialist. It is through e-mail that text messaging is quite active, so the teacher focused on the rules of speech behavior (netiquette) in business e-mails.

Students worked with interest on the structural and semantic components of business emails, enthusiastically performed the proposed practical tasks. The key point in the training was the compilation of an online e-mail - a business proposal to the senior teacher Yavorskaya E.E. This kind of task caused genuine interest among the participants of the training. They not only consolidated their skills in practice, but also acted as experts, analyzing the mistakes made by their classmates.

The training ended with words of gratitude for the fruitful time and hope for further cooperation!
The next stage of work is the participation of the school team in the vocational guidance Olympiad on the Russian language, held by the department on January 18, 2019. Also the preparation of scientific works of schoolchildren to participate in the traditional international scientific student conference “Russian language in the 21st Century: youth research” February 7-8, 2019.

The work of the Department on the basis of the school-lyceum No. 28 is very productive!
