On April 29, 2022, a contest “The best public speaker” with the participation of FL-35 students, according to their chosen elective discipline, was held at the FL theory and practice department within the framework of the department club “Students’ club of foreign languages”, under the leadership of the head of the club Anasheva D.K.
At this contest "The best public speaker", foreign teachers of the FL theory and practice department were invited as a jury: August Garsney, Israel Moges, Jacek Pradela (who visited ENU under the academic program "ERASMUS+"), as well as a senior lecturer Verba Ye, A.
The ability to deliver public speech, the ability to capture the attention of the audience is a great art that is not subject to everyone. 11 students of FL-35 took part in this contest. They demonstrated their knowledge gained at the University and skills to express their thoughts, to argue in English. The speakers' speeches were quite convincing, they depicted fluency in English, therefore it was quite difficult for the jury to choose the 3 best speakers. After discussing the speeches, the students listened to the comments of 3 foreign teachers and a senior lecturer of the department, Verba Ye.A. Following the discussion, Sapieva Aiganym received the 1st prize, Aisha Bayzhanova took the 2nd place, Guldana Saukhanova took the 3rd place. The contest was held in an amicable atmosphere and aroused great interest among the 3rd year students.
