Recently, it has become very difficult for school graduates to decide on the choice of a profession. This is due to the fact that schoolchildren have practically no idea about the labor market, about the requirements for personal qualities and professional training of specialists, about working conditions and employers. Therefore, vocational guidance in the school comes down to helping children and their parents make the right and faultless choice in the world of modern professions. In order for the student to make the right choice, it is not enough to test him or to talk about a particular profession. He must be convinced that this is the best choice of all possible, corresponding to his abilities and aspirations. Therefore, lecturers of L.N. Gumilyov ENU over the years leading an active career guidance work with schoolchildren in the schools of the city of Nur-Sultan. On December 13, 2019 associate professor of Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages of Philology Faculty, Ph.D. Zhusupova R.F. and Professor of Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages of Philology Faculty, Ph.D. Niyazova A.E. conducted career guidance work in school # 3 with students of 11 grade. At the meeting, the issues of submitting core subjects and the procedures for submitting documents for a grant were discussed. All this contributes to the dissemination of information about the university and its specialties within specific schools, helping students to correctly and timely navigate the world of modern professions.
