Online Career Guidance

The L.N. Gumilyov ENU has been actively working within Admissions Office for taking all the questions and providing helps to applicants who want to become bachelor, master and PhD students of our university.

 

At the Faculty of Philology, career guidance is carried out year-round. In January 2020, the faculty departments held regional olympiads in languages ​​and literature among schoolchildren of the capital and other cities and regions. This type of career guidance has become a tradition at the faculty.

 

The teaching staff of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department ​​held the Republican Olympiad in English in the IELTS format, which was attended by more than 130 schoolchildren – 11th and 10th grade school students. All students received certificates of participation, and 8 of them were awarded with diplomas of 1, 2 and 3 degrees.

 

Career guidance was carried out during the academic year in many schools of the capital by teachers of the department: Bilim-Innovation Lyceum for girls, Lyceum No. 85, Gymnasium No. 31, Lyceum No. 38, School No. 3, Gymnasium No. 17, Gymnasium No. 81, Gymnasium No. 6, Lyceum No. 66. On June 27, 2020 Head of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department Zhanna ​​Beisembaeva conducted career guidance work with applicants of the education program “7M01719 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” for the first time in online format on the Zoom platform. Among the applicants who visited the online meeting were graduates of the ENU education program “5B01900 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” of 2020, teachers of Nur-Sultan schools and graduates of a partner university – Eurasian Humanities Institute.

 

The Department Head Zhanna Beisembaeva showed in her presentation and speech the strengths and attractivenesses of studying at ENU and of the education program for training teachers of English and a second foreign language: the content of the educational program, the choice of a second foreign language, research activities, future employment, the possibilities of exchange programs with partner universities, teaching staff of the department, visiting foreign professors, social support of teachers and lecturers in modern Kazakhstan, the need to work off a state grant, etc.

 

Participants of the online career guidance meeting asked a lot of questions: about the format of the entrance exam, about the number of grants for this educational program, about the need to provide an IELTS certificate, about prerequisites and research topics.

 

The online meeting with future master students of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department f ​​was held in a fruitful way, where participants received full answers to their questions and recommendations on further actions for enrolling in the L.N. Gumilyov ENU.
