December 7, 2018 at the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology, the book "Era of Independence" by N.A. Nazarbayev was introduced to the students. A round table for 2nd year students was organized and conducted by professor Ph.D. Gauriyeva G. M.
The purpose of the event is to inculcate in the younger generation the awareness of how much interesting and fateful things were done during the formation of Kazakhstan, and to educate students of patriotism.
During the presentation, it was told that the stages of construction of sovereign Kazakhstan were recreated in chronological order. Reading this book, one can understand what enormous work and expertise were applied to introduce the most radical economic and social reforms that built a new Kazakhstan. Therefore, four periods can be distinguished in the narrative: "The Birth of the State. The First Modernization of Kazakhstan (1991-1995)"; "The Great Overcoming. Start of the Second Modernization of Kazakhstan (1996 - 1999)"; "On a Steep Rise. Second Modernization of Kazakhstan (2000 - early 2010s)" and "An Accomplished State. Third Modernization of Kazakhstan (2010s)".
Speaking about the contents of the book, the teacher noted that Nursultan Abishevich especially addresses young people with the words: “I believe that our citizens, especially young people, should know how our course was formed, under what conditions the independent Kazakhstan was born and built, who played an important role in its formation, and what events accompanied all these ... ".
The book aroused great interest among students. Roundtable participants shared their impressions. They supported the proposal to use the book in the curriculum as a textbook on the modern history of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the event, special attention was paid to the key words of Nursultan Nazarbayev, which became the epigraph to the book “The Era of Independence”: “This book is dedicated to my people, who always supported me. People who confidently head toward the future in their own Kazakhstan way.”
