With the support of the Association of Professional Translators and Kazakhstan Translation Companies, Translation Teachers’ Association (St. Petersburg, Russia) "Turan-Astana" University successfully hosted the Republican youth competition of consecutive interpretation "Til Kazyna" on the theme "Professional associations of translators from different countries", where first-year undergraduates of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation participated.
The competition procedure was as close as possible to the working conditions of an interpreter. In the first round, it was necessary to translate the speech from Russian / Kazakh into English. In the second round, an audio-video presentation from English into Russian / Kazakh.
According to the results of two rounds, Yerzhan Arsen took 1st place, Abdrakhmanov Azhibek 2nd place. They will take part in the 4th International Student Competition of translators Tri-D-Int on March 19-21, 2020 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
