Information Letter

The Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology is holding the 2nd International Online English Language Olympic Competition among the first and the second year students of non-linguistic specialties. The Olympic Competition is dedicated to the Year of Fundamental Sciences: the development of human potential in science.

          

The purpose of the competition is to identify the skills of speech activity on the theme "Innovations and Human Development".

 

1. The 2nd  International Student English Language Olympic Competition is held on April 9, 2022 on the Google Meet online platform. Up to 5 students are invited to participate from each higher educational institution, who have scored the highest points in their own university Olympic Competition.

 Requirements for participants:

1) Internet connection at last 512 kb/s;

2) Google Account

3) Speakers (microphone)

4) Camera

 

2. In order to participate the competition, you must fill out the participant’s application (Appendix 1) and send it to the organizing committee email address:  olympiad.enu.2017@mail.ru no later than March 31, 2022.

3.1 You must have an identity document with you to register.

3. First session will be at 12:00 Nur-sultan time (9:00 Moscow time) on April 9th, 2022.  First session consists of two parts: Listening and Reading

4. According to the results of the first session, only the participants who have scored the maximum points will continue the second session (final session).

5. Second session is a speaking session about “Innovations and Human Development”

 

 6. All participants of the International Olympic Competition will receive certificates of participation, and the winners will receive diplomas of I-III degrees for 1-3 places, respectively. Certificates and diplomas will be sent by email.
