Online discussion with students on the topic "University's anti-corruption policy"

February 10, 2021 senior teachers of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages ​​Beisembaeva L.Zh. and Kydyrbaeva D.A. held an online meeting on the topic "Anti-corruption policy of the university" with 1st year students of the specialty B018-Training of foreign language teachers. The meeting was held on the Microsoft Teams platform https://clck.ru/TDCJv.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Lyazzat Zhumabekovna introduced the students to the official website of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, where students can find and read information about the Anti-Corruption Standard, the Regulation on Anti-Corruption Policy, the Composition of the Commission, the Commission's Work Plan for the year, Normative acts. There is also a hotline phone number on the website where students can call and get additional information.

The university's anti-corruption standard provides general provisions, rules of conduct for employees, managerial responsibilities within their competencies, recommendations for university employees in the provision of scientific and educational services.

 

Dana Asylkhavnovna continued the meeting by defining the word Corruption and named the types of corruption, and also spoke about the Office of Integrity "Adep", which was created at L.N. Gumilyov ENU in 2019. The main functions of the project office "Adep" are: development and implementation of special anti-corruption measures: development of regulations for informing students and university employees about cases of inciting them to commit corruption offenses; familiarization of students with the University Charter, the Code of Honor and Conduct, the Code of Business Ethics, the Internal Regulations, the Rules of Residence in the Dormitory, as well as measures taken in the field of combating corruption; carrying out explanatory work on intolerance to corruption at the university; conducting anonymous survey and sociological research among students and employees to monitor the state of corruption at the university; carrying out preventive anti-corruption measures; organizing and holding events timed to coincide with the International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9); holding meetings of students, university employees with representatives of law enforcement agencies, etc.

The ENU website also has the Regulation on the Adep project office, which students can download and read.

Further, the students were shown an Anti-Corruption video from the website of the National Library about the History Teacher, who has been working with Adep for many years, is an example for the younger generation, loves his job. The students liked the video very much and they understood the main idea of ​​this video.

In general, all 1st year students were interested in this topic, asked questions and at the end of the meeting thanked the teachers for the information provided.
