ONLINE DISCUSSION WITH UNDERGRADUATES

On February 10, 2021, an online discussion "Volunteering as an integral part of youth policy" was held for 1st-year undergraduates of the specialty "Foreign language: two foreign languages". The event was dedicated to the year of volunteerism and the 25th anniversary of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU.  The online discussion was conducted by teachers of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Philology: C.p.s., Associate Professor R.F.Zhusupova and C.p.s., Associate Professor A.M. Abdykhalykova.

In Kazakhstan, volunteerism is considered as one of the most effective mechanisms for the participation of young people and other social groups in the cultural, economic and social life of the country. Kazakhstan has a National Volunteer Network, a non-governmental organization that serves as a link between network members and representatives in the regions, giving impetus to the approach of developing volunteerism in Kazakhstan. The idea of volunteerism began to develop in Kazakhstan from 1993, when the UN Volunteers program appeared.

Students were offered the resources of the UN to apply for participation in global volunteer movement. Caring people from all over the country, regardless of their status, do not pass by other people's troubles, thereby making our Homeland better, and people kinder and happier.

Undergraduates were actively involved in the discussion, creatively answered questions and told about their experience of volunteering at the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Nur-Sultan.
