The Educational Ecosystem is the necessity of modern society

On April 19, 2022, Professor of Theory of Foreign Languages Department of Gulbarshin Baigunissova made a report (in online format) "Ecosystemic view on the development of digital didactics in universities of Kazakhstan" at the V International scientific and practical conference "Continuing education in the science of the future: an ecosystem view for teaching activities”. The organizer of this conference is the Institute of Continuing Education of the Moscow Pedagogical University (Moscow, Russia).

As practice shows, traditional education is no longer relevant, graduates leave educational institutions without practical skills, and it is often difficult for them to find their place in the labor market. One of the solutions to this problem can be the development of an ecosystem approach to education. The concept of lifelong learning appeared in connection with the constant development of the labor market and the need to adapt to changing circumstances. If you do not update your knowledge, the career of an employee may stop growing, and the person will remain unclaimed in the field of his professional activity. That is, the main goal of modern education is to develop in schoolchildren and students the ability to independently improve their knowledge. This issue was discussed by the conference participants.

Gulbarshin Baigunissova has been working on the Flipped classroom method for several years now, and she has gained some experience in helping a student acquire knowledge on his own. In her teaching practice, there is now no division of classes into lectures and practical seminars - the entire cycle of classroom hours is devoted to developing the practical skills of students. And students, relying on the teacher`s methodological instructions, independently study the theory at home. Time has shown the effectiveness of using this method, and the scientist decided to conduct a study on how the flipped class method is used in the universities of Kazakhstan. She shared her results and observations with foreign colleagues.

The conference participants came to the conclusion that there is no single method of teaching in the educational ecosystem. But we need to get away from the standard model that controls the learning process, like on an assembly line. The ecosystem in education can lead to models of self-directed learning, without coercion, which will give impetus to the further development of society.
