On October 5, 2022, the Department of Practical Kazakh Language held a discussion on the topic «An example of a teacher of the nation for youth». It was held with the participation of 1-year students of the Russian department in the specialties «restaurant business and hotel business» of the Faculty of Economics, «Geography» of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and «calculation and design of buildings and structures» of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Associate Professor of the above department Ainur Naimanbai recalled that the event was held as part of the 150th anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynuly, and therefore, in addition to his mentoring, education and activities, the conversation would be focused on his moral qualities as a son, friend and close person to others. In order for young people to get to know the personality of the figure better, a student of the specialty «geography» Dilnaz Serik told his detailed biography.
Further, the participants described the contribution of the teacher of the nation to the development of language and literature, shared his innermost thoughts about the mother and devotion to the people through poems. In particular, the poems «Anama hаt», «Zhurtyma», «Okuga shakyru» («Letter to my mother», «To my people», «Call to study»), read by students Aruay Nurlan (Gg-14), Meruert Balgazina (RPZS- 12), Enlik Kenzhegazy (RPZS-12), showed the poetic skill of the author. For this part of the event, the youth answered the questions developed by the Associate Professor of the Department of Practical Kazakh Language Altynai Ashenova. A student of the Faculty of Economics Diyara Ergasheva (RDGB-12) and a student of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering Enlik Kenzhegazy (RPZS-12) were active in the discussion and exchange of views. Terme Nurtugan «Kanekey, tilim, soileshi» performed by Aziza Orazalina (Gg-14) inspired the audience.
The next part of the discussion was devoted to the point of view of the founder of Kazakh linguistics regarding the affixes «ov», «ev», which do not attach any meaning and have nothing to do with Kazakh names. Also briefly mentioned were the opinions of his like-minded people, leaders of the Alash Yeldes Omarulу and Khalel Dosmukhameduly movement, that when adopting borrowed words, preserving their basis, our language must comply with its laws of pronunciation and norms of naturalness. «It is sad that despite the fact that these issues were raised a century ago, they still remain on the agenda of our native language» said Gulbaіra Otelbay, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the team that organized the event.
At the end of the event, the teachers thanked the students who took part in the event and asked them to learn good qualities from the teacher of the nation and not forget about his mentorship.
