On November 27, 2020, senior lecturer A. A. Baybatyrova made a presentation "Discursive strategies and tactics for structuring research methodology in English-language scientific articles" at a scientific webinar organized by the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology and which has become traditional for the teaching staff and students of undergraduates and students. The head of the department Zh. A. Beisembaeva made a welcoming speech, who noted the importance of virtual seminars for deepening knowledge in the field of scientific research. The seminar was attended by undergraduates and students of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages department and teachers of the philological faculty.
A.A. Baybatyrova presented a detailed discourse analysis of 40 chapters "Methodology" - a section of an English-language scientific article, the purpose of which was to identify the frequency of manifestation of strategies and tactics of structuring written texts. This topic is of great interest from the point of view of obtaining the necessary knowledge on writing scientific articles for journals with a high citation index. The analysis of text organization and pragmatic aspects was carried out on the basis of 40 articles from journals with a high impact factor, which were reliable models for writing a scientific article.
