methodological seminar "Application of digital technologies for the development of global competencies in an educational and scientific interdisciplinary environment"

On January 21, 2023, the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation organized a scientific and methodological seminar on the topic "Application of digital technologies for the development of global competencies in an educational and scientific interdisciplinary environment." The seminar was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of NAO "Karaganda University named after Academician E. A. Buketov" with the participation of invited speakers:

- Letyaikina T.A., President of the Association of Legal Entities (ALE) of the Association of Teachers and Teachers of English "KazTEA" (https://kaz-tea.kz/en/) (Shymkent);

- Zhusupova R. F., candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor of NAO "L. N. Gumilyov ENU " (https://ff.enu.kz/);

- Bedelbayeva M.V., Candidate of Historical Sciences, Head of the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of NAO “Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketov” (https://buketov.edu.kz/ru/page/museum3).

The Faculty of Foreign Languages was represented by:

- Shelestova T.Yu., PhD, associate professor of NAO “Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketov” (https://buketov.edu.kz/ru/page/research/research5).

- Kalizhanova A.N., master of philological sciences, senior lecturer of NAO “Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketova.

- Budikova Zh.A., 2nd year master student of NAO “Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketova.

The seminar discussed issues of modern education, identified global competencies that need to be developed by both teachers and students in order to adequately meet the challenges of the TACI world (Turbulent (turbulent), Accidental (random), Chaotic (chaotic), Inimical (hostile)), which left from the worlds of BANI and VUCA only fragments.

 

Further, Letyaikina Tatyana Adygamovna shared her experience of cooperation between the ALE "KazTEA" and NJSC "L.N. Gumilyov ENU" and "KarU named after. E.A. Buketov" as part of educational and methodological and research projects on the use of ICT in the educational process. The speaker from Shymkent touched upon the problems of using web applications for high-order tasks, and also mentioned the passive attitude on the part of students to discuss problematic issues in discussion forums (online) and during facilitation sessions (offline). The seminar was continued by Kalizhanova Anna Nikolaevna, who spoke about the advantages of interdisciplinary projects using the example of Postcrossing technologies and museum podcasting. Marina Vasilievna Bedelbayeva spoke about the importance of choosing and creating “toxic” (catchy) headlines in science and education by holding a short interactive session, during which the participants of the seminar did a number of interesting tasks. Marina Vasilievna noted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, both for the personal and professional growth of participants in the educational process, and for the development of educational institutions. The seminar was continued by Budikova Zhansaya Akimzhankyzy, who modeled a fragment of the facilitation session, where the participants of the seminar first discussed problematic issues in mini-groups. Zhusupova Roza Flyurovna shared the results of an interesting study on the topic “Exploring linguocultural awareness in multimodal CBI classrooms”. The workshop was very fruitful and creative.
