Meeting with interpreter Andrei Falaleyev

On September 21, 2018, Faculty of Philology and General Linguistics and Translation Theory Department organized the master class of Professor Andrei Falaleyev, famous simultaneous interpreter of the USA, USSR and Russian Federation Presidents, AIIC active member, Professor of Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Dean of Faculty of Philology, Sholpan Kuzarovna Zharkynbekova, presented the guest of honor to the audience.

Teachers of the Department, students, graduate students and PhD students of "Translation studies" specialty attended a master class of the famous guest, who shared his thirty years of experience as an interpreter for Presidents: Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George Bush (senior), Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin. Andrey Falaleyev also spoke about the common mistakes in the process of interpretation, and told about interesting life situations related to his professional activities.

The event was held in a creative and relaxed atmosphere. During the meeting the audience asked many questions about interpreting and teaching experience of the honored guest.

As a result, Professor Andrei Falaleyev thanked all the participants for showing interest in his work.
