On December 25, 2022, the winners of the City Online Reading Contest “Living Poetic Word - 2022” were awarded among educational institutions of the city of Astana (schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, colleges), including an inclusive education format. It should be noted that the participants represented different age categories, levels of training, standard and advanced types of training. The competition was supported by partner organizations: RSE on REM "Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Expertise of the Content of Education" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, GKKP "Center for the Modernization of Education" of the Akimat of Astana, KSU "Centralized Library System" of the Akimat of Astana.
The competition held at the site of the Higher College "Astana Polytechnic", according to the initiator and organizer, head. library Ismagulova M.M., aimed at:
- distribution among the participants of rhetorical knowledge and skills, ideas about the basics of expressive reading of a literary text;
- increasing interest in the art of expressive reading, the culture of public speaking;
- development of media culture in the educational environment, preservation and enhancement of cultural, spiritual and moral values in the modern information space.
For the first time in the competition, the section "English Language" was presented, which faced the difficult task of assessing the author's declaration of works, both classics of foreign poetry, and translations of domestic masterpieces. The jury consists of leading experts in the field of English, experienced teachers of the leading universities of the country: the chairman of the commission is a candidate of philological sciences (PhD), associate professor of the Kazakhstan branch of L.N. Lomonosov Moscow State University, editor-in-chief of the National Association of English Language Teachers KazTEA Sulkarnaeva A.R.; deputy Chairman - Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, President of the City Association of Teachers and Teachers of English ELUTA Zhusupova R.F., Master of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Medical University Astana Babzhanova G.Zh.
The competition was held as part of the "Year of Children in Kazakhstan" and the "Reading Nation" project, announced in the President's Address (2022) on the development of reading interest among children and youth. It is gratifying that the proposal to recite poems at the competition evoked a lively response from schoolchildren and students, videos of the participants' performances are available on the Living Poetic Word channel on the YouTube platform.
