Man lives only by knowledge, Only by knowledge the century moves ...

Every nation has a spiritual and moral basis. One of such invaluable treasures in the Kazakh public is the literature heritage of Abay Kunanbayev. In particular, his "Words of wisdom" fully reflect the moral and ethical norms of each person, regardless of race and social status. At the seminar "The Book of Words" on November 24, first-year undergraduates of the Department of Foreign Languages (group MO 19-1719-20-01) showed how modern the ideas of the great educator.

Moderator Dina Berdalieva opened the seminar with a Kazakh folk song “Yapurai”. Aknur Amanzholova read Abai's 15th word in her free-sounding voice, telling how a sane and insane person should be accountable to himself in this life. By drawing a parallel between the past and present life Dinara Baizhaksynova, Dina Abulgazinova, Leila Arunova and Salauat Asylbek showed that even today, as a hundred years ago, all problems arise from our ignorance, unwillingness to study, laziness and negligence. The speakers also mentioned that knowledge, hard work and compassion help everyone to remain as a person. Abai expressed his high ethical ideal in the moral formula "Be a man!" He addressed it to the young people. This was noted by Ulzhan Abdikalykova and Aidana Bekbossunova. In her report, Aigerim Aliullayeva quoted Abai as saying that everyone should report to themselves weekly or once a month. In addition, the song "Kozimnin Qarasy" which was performed by Aigerim did not leave anyone indifferent. Moderator Alisher Baizrakhmanov concluded the seminar with the words of another great Kazakh poet, prose writer M. Auezov: "A real person, in whom there is honor and will, overshadows those who are driven by the storm ..."
