educational event on the topic “Religious extremism”

On March 29, students of the group FL-23 took part in the educational event on the topic “Religious extremism”. The organizer of this event was Avazbakiyeva F.R. – associate professor of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department. The educational event was held with the participation of senior curator of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department Narmukhametova N. M., curators of the 2nd year students and an employee of the Department of Social and Civil Development of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, religious scholar, theologian Daribai Muratbek Ontalapuly.

The educational event was held in the form of a television show, where the students themselves were experts. The experts included a historian, a religious scholar, a believer, a psychologist, a human rights representative, and a journalist. The students talked about the causes of the emergence and spread of extremism, the social base of extremist groups and the legislative framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan that counteracts extremism.

At the end of the event, students asked the invited guest the questions. Daribay Muratbek Ontalapuly answered all the students' questions and gave a mini-lecture on the importance of understanding the destructive effect of religious extremism.
