An educational excursion to the memorial meseum “ALZHIR” on the theme “Modern Kazakhstani culture in the global world”

On the 9th of April 2021, teachers of Foreign Languages Department of the Faculty of Philology Arystanbekova Zh. and Bakyt A. organized an educational excursion to the memorial meseum “ALZHIR” on the theme “Modern Kazakhstani culture in the global world”. The first year undergraduate students majoring in Technical physics and Kazakh language literature have attended the event.

The main purpose of the event is to emphasize the importance of national identity, and the formation of the nation. Further understanding the importance of our formation as a country and the history of Kazakh nation. To some extent, it is also essential to be aware that national identity and international positions are the key to the progress of the nation.    

In the beginning of the , four students gave a comprehensive presentation, and covered the theme by providing various examples to clarify their ideas in depth. The students wrapped up their presentation with a video about the national identity in our country. The participants of the seminar spoke out their views with a discussion based on the content of the video. 

The planned online excursion was held on a high level. The trip to the camp “ALZHIR” was organized on the Zoom platform from 14:00-15:00. The two group students interactively participated the event.  Lots of interesting and thoughtful information have been provided about the background of the camp, about the stories of those great patriots who sacrificed themself and still provided strong supports for our country, and about the incredible difficulties about their wives and children who suffered and died there.    

At the end of the event, students actively discussed and shared various views concerning the subject. The educational excursion was well organized, and students gained many insights. It deepened students’ understanding of the topic. Moreover, strengthened students’ motivation for learning. The event ended with the students asking questions and getting answers from the speaker. Students surely gained many insights and improved their knowledge about our background and history.
