On November 2-3, 2019, a debate tournament on parliamentary debates “Talant cup. Stolichniy ”under the slogan“ Become the first Talent of the capital” was organized by Astana IT University. The event was organized by the Debate Club “Parasat”, which operates with the support of the Faculty of Philology of ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov. For fair decision-making in the rounds, participants from other clubs of the debate community of the city of Nur-Sultan were also invited to the judging.
It is worth noting that debaters are now in great demand in the labor market, because debates are one of the important tools for developing critical thinking skills and public speaking.
The tournament was attended by 32 teams, including debaters not only from the city of Nur-Sultan, but also from Kokshetau and Karaganda. The purpose of the event was to increase the information content of young debaters about social, economic and political processes in the international arena, as well as the active involvement of young people in the discussion of pressing issues of our time.
As a result, 4 teams reached the final. And the winner’s cup was taken by members of “Parasat” Denis Zhilyaev and Arsen Abulgazimov. The best judge was recognized a graduate of ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov Alikhan Gazenov, who was recently invited to Shanghai to teach students of China the technology of intellectual game.
