On October 5, 2018 students of groups SHT-11 and SHT-13 ( Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Philology) together with tutors D.B.Akynova and D.G. Zhasarova visited one of the largest libraries in Kazakhstan - the National Academic Library.
С самого начала студенты окунулись в доброжелательную и интеллектуальную атмосферу. Знакомство с библиотекой началось с величественного здания, которое впечатлило студентов своим великолепием. From the very beginning, students plunged into a welcoming and intellectual atmosphere. Acquaintance with the library began with a beautiful building that impressed students with its magnificence. The architecture of the building attracts visitors with its functionality and modern design, where a pleasant atmosphere has been created for the work of library readers.
The history of the National Academic Library is closely connected with the emergence of a new capital as the intellectual center of Kazakhstan and is designed to promote the flourishing of the creative potential of the capital and the country as a whole.
The volume of the main library stock is more than 890,000 units of storage. The library has books on braille for visually impaired citizens. More than 30 private book collections of domestic figures of science, culture and education, outstanding collectors of Kazakhstan are of particular value. In addition, there is an electronic library of the library, which is available on the kazneb.kz portal.
The publications in English and other foreign languages, as well as publications to prepare and pass tests for proficiency in English (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) were of particular interest to the language groups SHT-11 and SHT-13.
The students had a tour “Library - Knowledge Center”, where they had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history and activities of the library.
