Active vocational-oriented work of teachers of the Department of Foreign Philology in schools in Nur-Sultan

To form the future contingent of the ENU students, teachers of the Department of Foreign Philology regularly, since September, conduct active vocational-oriented work in schools in Nur-Sultan. This work is carried out in the following areas: career guidance work in city schools, advice on the differences between specialties; on the cost of training in the ENU; on the disciplines taught; about the faculty, about the areas of activity of future graduates, the holding of image events during the school year, such as language Olympiads, Open Days. In February, professors of the department G.K. Kenzhetaeva and M.L. Anafinova held a meeting with students of the graduating classes of Nur-Sultan gymnasium school 75.

         The focus of career guidance work is to provide information support to students in the process of choosing a training profile and the field of future professional activity. As part of the meeting, conversations were held with students, bright booklets about the life of the department were distributed. The video presentation about the University, the Faculty of Philology and the Department of Foreign Philology attracted special attention of the students. Teachers met with graduates of five classes and tell them in detail about specialties, professionals of the department and credit technology. Many questions were asked about grants for specialties, academic mobility, as well as master's degree and doctoral studies of the department. In addition, students were interested in organizing extracurricular work, leisure and the development of creative abilities.

         Main emphasis is placed on admission to the specialty 6B01720 - "Foreign language: two foreign languages ​ ​ (German), about different scholarships and the Goethe Institute, about the availability of grants, the possibility of switching from a contractual basis to a grant during the school year, the advantages of academic mobility during studies at the National University. Students listened with interest, as evidenced by numerous questions: about grants, procedure of choosing a subject, and the cost of training, etc., to which graduates received comprehensive answers.
