Visiting the theater by philologists

Saturday evening (10/23/2021) the first "Thunderstorm" was shown to the students of the groups RLL-22, RPh-22 at the State Academic Russian Theater named after M. Gorky. The students were accompanied by the head of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Department Ye.A.Zhuravleva and the curator of the groups A.K.Yeshekeneva.

"Thunderstorm" directed by Rachi Makataev (St. Petersburg) and set designer Ilshat Vildanov (St. Petersburg) is a black-and-white world of one city, where cruel morals and hypocrisy are hidden behind a high fence.

The plot of the famous play tells about the tragic fate of a young woman Katerina, who grew up in a family where she was loved from the childhood, who suffers in the house of her weak-willed husband and becomes a victim of cruelty and tyranny of her mother-in-law. Katerina's suicide is a protest, a cry, a plea for mercy, love for neighbor and forgiveness.

Modern period relevance of A.N. Ostrovsky classic drama should be judged by the present audience.

We recommend watching the play.
