Our foreign quest PhD Maria Blakhova

In the first week, a surprise for the TPFL department was lecturing on “Intercultural communication in teaching a foreign language” for undergraduates and the course “History of English” for undergraduate Maria Blakhova, PhD, head of the Department of Intercultural Communication, Faculty of Applied Languages, University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia. Our foreign guest arrived on academic mobility from September 9 to 19. High professionalism, excellent presentation of the material, interesting video accompaniment of lectures allowed our students to easily master the material and interact at lectures, answering the lecturer's questions and asking questions of interest to them.

On the very first day, Maria Blakhova met with the administration of the faculty, Dean A.B. Beisenbay and the head of Department Zh.A. Beisembaeva. The cultural program for the foreign lecturer was carefully thought out by the head of the department Zhanna Alibievna: an excursion to the university museums and attractions of our capital - Baiterek, Independence Palace, Mangilik el Square, Pyramid, Hazret Sultan Mosque, Expo, National Museum, Astana Opera, Khan Shatyr and others.

And, of course, a mini-concert prepared by students of the group SH-23 under the guidance of curator N.M. Narmukhametova was a pleasant gift for Maria Blakhova. The anthem, colorful videos about the national symbols of Kazakhstan, the demonstration of national costumes, the demonstration of Kazakh national instruments, the celebration of Nauryz, the performance of songs in the Kazakh and Mongolian languages and a fun dance performed by the soloist of the Samruk dance group Utepova Asel.

The visits of foreign lecturers, lectures by native speakers contribute not only to the image of the department but also are an excellent master class for successful mastery of a foreign language for students.
