On January 15, 2019 lecturers of ‘Theory and practice of foreign languages’ department D.B. Akynova and A.Ye. Assanova conducted educational trivia quiz on the topic ‘What do you know about the UK?’ in the framework of the profession-oriented work in lyceum-school №48.
The questions of trivia quiz comprised interesting facts about sightseeing, the history of the UK, historical figures, the English language and daily life of Britons. The pupils of 11th grades (11A, 11Б, 11В) took part in the event.
The pupils showed keen interest and deep knowledge concerning the English language and country-study. It should be noted that Adilet О., the pupil of 11A showed high intellect in the trivia express-quiz. According to the results, some learners were awarded with mini-prizes.
Finally, in the framework of the event the information about the major 5B011900 ‘Foreign language: two foreign languages’ at ‘Theory and practice of foreign languages’ department of philology faculty was presented. Pupils of the school asked questions about the possibilities of entering this specialty, passing scores, tuition fee, academic mobility and foreign teachers. All questions were given detailed answers.
