On October 4, 2019, Professor, PhD Douglas Hartman visited the Faculty of Philology of ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov and gave a lecture for the teaching staff of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages. The famous scientist spoke about the latest research in the field of definition of the concept of "literacy", and also discussed with teachers the ways to improve the literacy of the population. For the past 30 years, Dr. Hartman has been examining PhD applications and instructing PhD students, talking to potential graduate students, doing research and teaching at universities.
