On January 27, 2021, the contest “The best reciter in English” among the 2nd year students of the FL theory and practice department was held within the framework of the “Students’ club of foreign languages”. Foreign teachers of our department August Garsney and Israel Beyene Mogis, as well as the head of the department Beisembaeva Zh.A. were invited as the members of the jury. The 2nd year students demonstrated high results in reading poems of diverse English and American poets, permeating into their content, illustrating expressiveness and intonation. The jury members also shared their knowledge and experience in the field of poetry. The best readers were recognized the students of groups SHT-23 and SHT-25: 1st place - Tauekel Meruert (SHT-23), 2nd place - Saukhanova Guldana (SHT-25), 3rd place - Sapieva Aiganym SHT-25).
The poetry evening was conducted in an amicable atmosphere and aroused great interest among 2nd year students. Undoubtedly, students gained knowledge in the field of English and American literature.
