Zhanarbek Lashyn, student of group FL-33 of the specialty "Foreign language: two foreign languages" of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Philology, L.N. Gumilyov ENU became a laureate of the III degree of the online competition "Abai’s songs", dedicated to the celebration of the 175th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev. The competition was organized by the Abai Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Lashyn was also awarded the "Sympathy" prize for promoting Abai's songs abroad. Lashyn’s mentor, senior lecturer of the department of theory and practice of foreign languages Narmukhametova Nazgul Muratovna received a letter of thanks from the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abai for her contribution to the preparation of Lashyn.

Zhanarbek Lashin comes from Mongolia and is one of the many foreign students studying at our university. Lashyn is a member of the Dala Sazy and VIA ensembles, masterly plays the piano and guitar. He also goes in for mountaineering and boxing. She successfully represents our university in Mongolia. Lashyn's performance can be seen on the department's YouTube channel at the link.
