A scientific and methodical seminar «The main criteria for assessing students' language skills» was held

   On April 8, 2019, the teachers of the Kazakh language department of the philological faculty of the Eurasian National University L.N. Gumilev scientific and methodical seminar «The main criteria for assessing students' language skills» was held assessment of language knowledge of students. Deputy dean on research work of the Faculty of Philology Tusupbekova M.Zh., head of the department of practical Kazakh language Kulmanov KS, faculty and students took part in the named event.

   Speakers provided interesting and informative ways to work with the Kahoot application (https://kahoot.com/), one of the online programs used by colleagues to test the knowledge of students interested in a methodical seminar. Kahoot is an activity that allows you to create tests, quizzes and quizzes. First you need to choose the type of service: Quiz - quiz, Survey - questionnaire and Jumble - create a sequence.

    Having ordered all the questions and answers, the teacher must click the “Next” button in the upper right corner. You have the opportunity to redo the questions, delete them. Test questions are saved by pressing the "Save" button. You can view the test, edit it, share it with other people and close it by clicking the "Done" button.

   Students using their phones answer questions. Questions, in turn, are displayed on the projector. Students' answers will be displayed online, and all results will be displayed on the screen. Students can see their accomplishments on the board after they have answered all the questions.

   Upon completion, the full name of the student with the most points will be displayed.

    This topic of the methodical seminar, as well as its peculiarities of work, attracted the interest of the participants. Here, not only students tested their knowledge, but also teachers actively participated in testing their knowledge, answering questions, showed speed and creative thinking. At the end, on the screen, the results of those who entered the top three were presented, their mistakes were indicated, as well as, directly, the winner of this quiz.

   The workshop participants thanked the speakers for their approach to the teaching process, for explaining the methods of using this program.
