On January 23, 2020, invited professors Dr. Dorota Silvia Mayevich from Gdansk University (Poland) and Jabbarova Shoira from Termez State University (Uzbekistan) will hold a seminar “What Makes Us Multicultural: ESP Class Challenges” for teaching staff at the Faculty of Philology of L.N. Gumilyov ENU. The event was organized by Dean of the Faculty of Philology A.B. Beisenbay and Head of the Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages Zh.A. Beisembaeva.

The aim of the seminar is to exchange experience in teaching English in foreign and Kazakhstani universities, where foreign professors Dorota Sylwia Majewicz and Shoyra Dzhabbarova gave a presentation on innovative methods that are widely used by Polish colleagues at Gdansk University and Uzbek colleagues at Termez State University. During the workshop the requirements for publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals included in the Scopus and Clarivate Analytics database and ways to identify predatory magazines were also discussed.
